Block #4 and I did not bond. There was a lot of cutting for these 2 cakestands so I checked them off as I cut. Well, I didn’t have enough blocks for 2 cakestands and I had too many blocks for 1 cakestand. Piecing is not my thing, give me applique’ any day. So I did what any quilter would do, I folded everything up and put it in my bag to take to my sewing day tomorrow. Then I moved on to block #5. Got all the pieces traced, fused and cut. Plus I got my background blocks cut and sewed together.

I got all the cutting done and the charms sewed together for the outside. It took me awhile to decide on the layout for the charms but I’m pleased with my final decision. When I got to the point where I was to iron the charms to the fusible fleece I stopped. Had a small panic attack, re-read the pattern and now I’m ready to iron this morning. I’m not very fast making things like this but I will be so glad when I get this tote finished and my things in it.

I am so going to miss my quilting group when we move on to the next job.
We have so much fun and these ladies are so talented. I had a great sewing day yesterday. I got all of the mosquitos stitched on the ribbet quilt. YIPPEE! On to the frogs but not today. Today I’m going to make my tote, I hope.

Happy birthday, Toni!!
Block #3 took a little longer than I thought, longer as in all afternoon. The block is 30 1/2″ wide with a flower vine that runs across it. Smart me, I embroidered it by hand using floss that wasn’t divided. I’m really slow at hand embroidering. :/ I think the block turned out very pretty.
All of the sashings in this quilt are 2 1/2″ blocks sewn together. I’m undecided if I want to do that, I don’t know if I want it to look too scrappy. I’m thinking sashings in different colors of pinks and lt. green would be very pretty.
Happy quilting!

Finished the puppy pillow first thing yesterday morning, too cute. Next I sewed my seedling block to the Farmer’s Market layout. I’m so loving this quilt. Then I started working on the project for the Mini Booty Swap. Attached last border, layered, basted and started quilting. Had a mistake that turned happy after I looked at it for a while. The next thing I knew I was ready to do the binding. WOOHOO!! All I need to do now is sew the label on, wash, dry, iron and mail. This mini quilt turned out so cute I’m thinking I need one too. hehe
Wednesday when I picked up the ducky quilt I also purchased the Bluebonnet Trail charm pack by Moda and the Charm Party Tote by Penny Sturges. I don’t know why I didn’t purchase the 1 yd needed for the handles, lining and pocket lining. Also need the buttons and 1 1/2 yards of Pellon Fusible Fleece. Need to read the pattern to find out why it has to be fusible fleece. These totes are too cute!
Hope everyone has a quilt-y weekend!
