Finished the prayer shawl Saturday morning. I’m very pleased with it, just hope Mom likes it.
The kids went to Nashville shopping Saturday morning. Nikolas’s is hard to fit for shoes and they have discovered that Nike or Stride Rite fit him the best. Poppa and I opted out of the trip to the mall, too close to black Friday for us. DH and I did venture out to Hobby Lobby as I had a 40% off coupon.
The blue and white striped will become a blanket for Greg and the yellow with matching varigated will become a shawl for a friend for Christmas. After helping the economy at Hobby Lobby we had lunch at Ryans. Love, love, love all the veggies there. Finished up the day by picking up the grand-dog at the Spa (boy dogs go to the spa, not the beauty shop.
)
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Remember me showing you how much I had done on the prayer shawl? I just wasn’t happy with the way it was turning out, the edges were just ugly and the thread was making an ugly pattern. So Wednesday afternoon the shawl went from this
to 3 of theses.
Then 2 of those and part of another became these 4 granny squares and I’m working on the 5th.
I’m much happier now. I didn’t have a needle large enough to start stitching the squares together. I’m hoping 5 squares will be enough to make a shawl. Each square is 14″ so I’m thinking 5 will be plenty long enough.
Happy stitching!

I’m Thankful for You
Thanksgiving is the appointed time
for focusing on the good in our lives.
In each of our days,
we can find small blessings,
but too often we overlook them,
choosing instead to spend our time
paying attention to problems.
We give our energy
to those who cause us trouble
instead of those who bring peace.
Starting now,
let’s be on the lookout
for the bits of pleasure in each hour,
and appreciate the people who
bring love and light to everyone
who is blessed to know them.
You are one of those people.
On Thanksgiving,
I’m thankful for you.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Living on a military post has it’s advantages and disadvantages. The disadvantages are far less than the advantages IMO. The only downfall I can come up with is you are subject to random vehicle searches as you enter post. Well, granted that shouldn’t be a problem except when you have a tired screaming toddler in the backseat, it is 110 degrees and the groceries are in the back seat with said screaming tired toddler. Those guards finish their search very fast under those conditions. The advantages that come to mind are: you have to show your ID every time you enter post, the MPs roll by every 10 minutes, crime rate is almost non-existant, no loud noise after 10 pm. And my all time favorite, at midnight last night they locked down post, can’t get on and ya can’t get off. Why? Because President Bush is giving a speech and will be on post approximately 1 hr. Thank you, Mr. President!
Have you figured out why I’m thanking the President? I CAN’T GO TO WORK AND I HAVE TO STAY HOME AND SEW. *insert me dancing here* I think I will just take the rest of the week off.
Sew let me see, what shall I sew. Start a new quilt using the fabric Betsy sent? Quilt the Zoo Animals for Greg. Work on my Pretty ‘n’ Pink. Decisions decisions.
Happy quilting!

The little quilt for my Holiday Mini Booty Swap partner is quilted. I like the back as well as the front. Binding is cut. Unfortunately, I can’t show you until I know it has arrived at it’s new home. Don’t worry I have plenty to share with you.
I thought I would share some of my addictions loves with you.
Of course, like lots of you I love fabric, patterns, quilts and yarn but I’m talking about my other loves.
My first love comes to my inbox daily from Tipnut. They have tips about everything. Ever so often I think about unsubscribing because I will not have used any of their tips in a long time but I just can’t bring myself to unsubscribe. What if I missed a tip?
My next love is the magazine Quilts and more. I love that magazine! I look for it every time I go to Walmart.
This magazine has the best projects in it. I’ll have to live forever so I can make at least one of everything in the magazine.
My next love I have to have every morning and in the winter all through the day.
Folgers goes great with quilting.
I love 94 bloggers. Luckily, they don’t all post on the same day. There are a lot of them that I only read and don’t reply. I really enjoy the designers blogs. I’ve been reading Pat Sloan’s blog for as long as she has had one. I also belong to Pat’s yahoo group. I’m also addicted to One Pretty Things blog. This blog is filled with DIY.
My last addiction love is on MySpace. I’m as addicted to Mobsters as I am quilting.
I drink my coffee in the mornings playing Mobsters and it is the last thing I do at night.
So now I don’t have any secrets from my blogging friends. Have a great Monday!

Thanks to the darling spider I am now a week behind on everything. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeecccccccccccccckkkkk! I’m sure spiders are of the devil. There isn’t a lot of things that creep me out but spiders do. I’ve been know to abandon my vehicle on the side of the road because of a spider. I understand that I can easily smash one with a tissue but I can’t get past how creepy they look. I can shoot a snake, I can dress a deer out, I can take a mouse out of a trap but I can not stand to look at a spider. *shudders*
Moving on! I haven’t done anything this past week but lay in the bed, lay on the couch and sit at the computer for brief periods of time. By Thursday I was losing what mind I had left and my favorite son-in-law drove me to Walmart to buy a book. After browsing the books and magazines, I came home empty handed and went back to bed. Note: For those of you that don’t know, Jon is my only son-in-law but he is still my favorite.
I think it was on Tuesday that I received a box from Betsy. Betsy had sent me an email stating to open the main box as there was something in the box for the boys. I was sleeping when the mailman dropped off the package but when I woke up Nikolas met me in the hall with the package saying “Na Na” I have no idea how he got Na Na out of GranGran. Nikolas grabbed this piece of fabric so it will become a quilt for him.
The other two pieces were cloth books.
How cute! I have never made a cloth book but I intend to get busy on these projects as soon as I get my Holiday Swap done. Everyone is having fun with this package that Betsy sent.
I think everyone has squeezed the package and made a guess. lol Thank you so much, Betsy.
Starting this morning I must keep my nose to the grindstone. Today I will be working on my quilt for the Holiday Booty Swap and I’m hoping (crosses fingers) by day’s end I will be working on the binding. I want this package in the mail no later than Wednesday. I will work mornings starting Monday, in the afternoon I am not planning anything in case I need to rest and at night I will work on the prayer shawl.
I’m sure by now you are dieing to know what I’ve been pondering. Why is it that the good pills are always as big as a horse? Now keep in mind horses are HUGE!
Anyone that know the answer to this, please share.
Have a wonderful Sunday!

The spider bite sent me back to the dr’s yesterday. Doc took one look at me and sent me to the hospital. Spent the rest of the day getting IV and surgery to clean it out. Doc said may have to go in again. I will try to reply to everyone later, I don’t feel like sitting up to long at a time. Betsy, I saved your email, I think I have that pattern I will look as soon as I feel better. CJ, did you have an email from me about a pattern?
Later
