Blogger spotlight

Everyone having the crud wasn’t good enough for everyone in this house. Oh no, everyone and I do mean everyone is on round two. I’m sure I need to have my throat amputated. It is horrible. Poor little Greg has it just as bad as everyone else and ended up in the ER. Poor little guy! 

So all I have accomplished this week is to get my pieces cut and fused on the tea towel. I so want this towel for myself and it isn’t finished.

So I thought I would try something new. Blogger spotlight. Blogger spotlight is where I will tell you about a blog that I really enjoy following. I will talk about designers, quilters and anyone else that I follow.

This week I’m spotlighting JudyLaquidara.  Judy is a quilt designer. Judy has several things for bloggers to get involved in if they sew choose. Judy offers: stash busting, Star BOM, quilt a-long and hold a quilt-a-thon. Judy adds interest to her blog by blogging about her husband Vince, son Chad, dog Speck and her life. Be warned that Judy does not give spit warnings so do not drink and read Judy’s blog.   Check out the right column on Judy’s blog for her free patterns and patterns she has for sale.

I have never made any of Judy’s quilts and probably never will. Anyone that know me knows I hate piecing and I LOVE applique’. However, if I ever get the chance to meet Judy or attend one of her classes I will be there with bells on.

Mini Booty Swap Kitchen theme

I’ve had the info for some time for my swap partner. When I first read this info from Toni, my first thought was “Whaaaaat??????” , good thing I recovered, uh? I immediately started thinking of a pattern. Of course, with so many books of Pat Sloan’s I felt sure the pattern would come from her. Sure enough, it did. The pattern can be found in this book.  I can’t show you the exact pattern I will be using as my swap partner might be lurking. If you don’t have this book, I’m sure Pat will sale you one and her wonderful shipping guy Greg will ship it to you very quickly.

My swap patner likes two very pretty colors and I have the perfect piece of fabric for the backing but I can’t find it. I know I haven’t used it so if anyone knows where the fabric is, please feel free to tell me.

I picked up my tea towel today. At first I was kind of disappointed as the tea towel selection was slim, I’m talking Twiggy slim.  You do remember Twiggy? I settled on a plain one and will fancy it up myself. I hope I’m not in over my head.

I have never eat rocks.  I did find this pretty quilted rock. lol I am working on a quilting post and hope to have it finished today. Everyone has the crud including baby Greg so things are crazy to say the least. Happy quilting!

Pictures

I haven’t done any quilting since Greg was born. Greg is very good, sleeps, eats and poos. ;o Doesn’t require being rocked but he does require his paci. I have found the pattern I will be using for the next mini booty swap and hope to pick up the tea towel, background fabric and backing fabric next week. No, you can’t see it might give it away. Here are a few photos of my 2 beautifully handsome grandsons.  Nikolas loves Greg and is very helpful, when asked.   Lacy let’s Nikolas think he is holding the baby. Nikolas tells Greg “shhhh” when Greg’s little world falls apart. I can’t imagine who would teach Nikolas to tell Greg that. Nikolas and I point at each other and when our fingers touch we buzz.  Have a great week! Sew lots

P.S. I haven’t took the time to thank everyone for their prayers the day Greg was born. Your prayers were heard as due to an error that was quickly corrected, Greg and Lacy both could have died. Unfortunately, two nurses have been suspended and will probably loose their license. It is really hard for me to still talk about nor do I want to but I know if all my friends had not been praying the story would have had a different ending.
