Hi, Cindy. Great blog! You sound like you know you’re stuff and I was hoping you could help me with a sewing problem. I’m fairly new to machine sewing and bought a Janome Heart Truth to make quilts. In my class, we use Berninas to piece together our blocks and I never have any problems. At home, however, I’m never able to sew accurate 1/4-inch seams on my Janome. Any idea what I’m doing wrong? I don’t understand why there’s not a 1/4-inch guideline on the machine and lining up my fabric along the edge of the foot doesn’t seem to work either. I’d appreciate any advice you have about making accurate 1/4-inch seams on the Janome Heart Truth. Thanks for your help.
Thanks, Beth. I don’t know that I would say that I know my stuff but I sure have fun trying. 😀 I purchased a 1/4″ foot but I looked at my machine and I think the 1/4″ line would be the line between 1/8″ line and the 2/8″ line. The line I am referring to is just underneath the 1/8″ line. I hope this makes sense, I’m not real good at explaining things. If you need anymore help you can email me at csd.9013@yahoo.com. Don’t you love your Heart truth machine?

  2. Hi Cindy

I was wondering if you would be interested in showcasing some of your work on Stitcher’s Showcase.

Stitcher’s Showcase is a website my husband Jeff and I have started that is dedicated to stitching artists showcasing their work, including quilting and tapestry artists. We want to provide a great community for artists to showcase their work and to interact. We would love to see you bring your talents to the site.

We hope the community will inspire others and help them with their activities.

There is no charge. You can customise your own page and include a link back to your website to help promote your own activities. We only ask no blatant commercial promotion of products etc.

    The website is http://StitchersShowcase.com

If you like the site and would be kind enough to help us spread the word, a mention in your blog or on your website would be greatly appreciated.

Regardless, I would love to see you showcase your work there.

Thanks, and look forward to hearing from you.

    Sincerely
    Ann Pritchard

If you’re the person who was trying out my half granny square, please write to me: riverglorious AT yahoo dot com and I’ll help you out. Sometimes you need to leave out a stitch so the edge will stay straight.

  4. I found your blog on google and read a few of your other posts. I just added you to my Google News Reader. Keep up the good work. Look forward to reading more from you in the future.
