Not a bad day

Friday wasn’t a bad day at all. In fact, I’m just pretty pleased with all that I accomplished. I won’t bore you with the details of the household chores but you know they were there. What man decided that women should do the housework? lol We don’t like doing it any better then men would. In fact, housework interferes with the love of my life, quilting. I want a housekeeper and chef.

Moving on. I got the Be Attitudes towel done for May. I think it turned out pretty cute. Got the pieces fused and cut for the June Be Attitudes tea towel. The last two times I have forgot to trace the letters for the words. What’s up with that?

I have a few errands to run this morning then it will be fun fun fun for me.

Happy quilting!

Hope everyone had a wonderful easter. We woke up to rain, 25 mph winds and 48 degrees, which made it very chilly in NM.

We had a quiet day with DH watching TV and me reading 2 new knitting books and teaching myself to cast on and do the knit stitch. I’ve ripped all the stitches out as I had purchased very fine yarn. I will be picking up some worsted yarn, like the book calls for. All my life I’ve wanted to know how to knit and could never find anyone to teach me, I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of using the internet and teach yourself books before. Thanks to CraftyGryphon for inspiring me.

My new machine didn’t get here Friday until after 3 pm, I was pacing the floor. The UPS man offered to put it in the room I wanted it in. I thought that was very nice considering they are so busy they usually kinda throw the box at you and run. I’ve sewn on it some, not nearly as much as I would like but I’ll do that today.

I want to finish quilting Waiting on St. Nick today. I would have finished it Thursday but I ran out of the thread I was using in the bobbin. Worked on my Farmer’s Market BOM yesterday, I still have a tiny bit to do before I can show it.
Mon – put binding on 2 baby quilts, Dolly Madison Star
Tues – cut fabric for My Friend, Mary Lou, finish Farmer’s Market BOM, finish Waiting on St. Nick
Wed – Artful Hands (work on My Friend, Mary Lou)
Thurs – continue working on My Friend, Mary Lou
Fri – tea towels using the Be Attitude book

I’ve got my fingers crossed that I will finish all of my goals as I have a full week of real life things to do. Hope everyone has a great week!

Artfull Hands gathering

WOOHOO!! What a fun day! Everybody worked on their own thing but helped each other when needed. They helped me cut my fabric for my Dolly Madison Star and I appli-quilted the Waiting on the St. Nick quilt. The lady sitting at the table in front of me is making a red, black and white Diva quilt. Too cute!Lunch was wonderful. Fruit trays, quesdias (sp), guacomole, chips, salsa and bread pudding. I’m sure I gained 10 lbs.

While I was at the quilt shop I purchased things to keep me busy for a few days, I mean weeks. 😉
Tea towels to applique’ on. The towels are on the backing I purchased for the Sweet Baby Jane quilt
Be Attitude book, I’m going to use these patterns for applique’ on the tea towels. I may be adding this quilt to the list of quilts to make.
I will use these purple and green fat qtrs for eggplant and zucchini for the March Farmer’s Market. Yellow will be the background.
Lacy has 2 friends having a baby this month and one is tomorrow. So I purchased these panels, the bottom part is the backing. Cute, fast and cheating. 😛

Happy quilting!
