Cindy’s Creations

I made these Oreo Mint cupcakes because everyone loves cupcakes. According to Nikolas you have to take the cookie off the top of the cupcake first and eat that. Then one of your parents must remove the paper cup from the cupcake, tear in half and then eat. 😉 He ate everyone like that. Head on over to Megan’s Munchies for great easy recipes.

I also made the Banana Toffee cupcakes but they went so fast I didn’t get a photo.

Happy baking!

Betsy sent me tons of magazines. I’ve started looking through them. I’m amazed at the beautiful quilts that designers continue to design. If you are a designer, thank you.  Betsy, even sent me crochet magazines.  I am really enjoying looking at all the magazines and planning on the future quilts I will be making.

Happy quilting!

Breast Cancer Charity Quilt

Crabapple Hill Studio asked several designers to create a block for a charity quilt for the Susan G Komen Foundation (the largest breast cancer research organization in the USA). Some of the designers were : theme is “Forget Me Knot”, to remember women who’ve survived (and not survived) breast cancer. I’m sure that most of you have been touched by breast cancer somewhere along the way.

I can’t wait to see this quilt. Hop over to Anni’s blog and have a look at her block, it is sew pretty.

Baby C

Lacy came home with a ton of pictures of Baby C. Baby C slept through the whole thing which was good for the tech because the tech got better pictures. Here is my favorite picture of our sleeping baby. That wide turned up nose comes from Popa. We compared these photos to Nikolas’s ultrasound photos and it was like looking at the same baby. Twins?? Two years apart?? Oh and our baby is. . . . . . . . . . . . . .Greg.

My Friend

My Friend
By Pamela McInall

M is for MY friend, a truly special person I hold so dear,
Y is for YOU, that person who by my side is always here,
F is for FOREVER, the time I know our frienship will last,
R is for REMINICING, of the times you’ve been there in the past,
I is for INSPIRATONAL, for the way you’ve dealt with troubles through the years,
E is for EMOTIONS we share, whether it’s laughter, love or tears,
N is for NEVER doubting that your frindship will always be mine,
D is for DOUBLE the happiness, I wish on you my friend, at Christmas time!

Twas the Night Before Christmas Poem (for quilters)

(A Quilters’ Version from EverythingQuilts.com)

T’was the night before Christmas and all through the house,
The only one sleeping was a Quilter’s dear spouse.
The Log Cabin stockings were almost completed,
“Just a few stitches left,” our sweet quilter repeated.

“Then I can hang them and head off to finish
the pillows I’m making, fulfilling Mom’s wish
For something quilted to put on her couch and spoke,
as she pricked her poor finger, our quilter said, “Ouch!”

When from out in the kitchen there arose such a crashing,
she sprang from her work, and she dropped all her sashing.
Away to the doorway she flew like a plane,
wondering just what was happening and who she would blame.

When what to her wondering eyes should appear,
but Old Mrs. Claus and her bag of quilt-gear…
With her elves bearing gifts, through the kitchen she came,
she directed and pointed and called them by name.

“Now Elna, now Pfaff, now Bernina and Viking,
the Hoffman and Mumm should be just to her liking.
To the sewing room – there, it’s just back of the hall,
now dash away, dash away, dash away all!”

“My Dear,” said The Claus (as she liked to be called),
“There really is no need to worry at all.
Your projects will all be completed this night,
I’m terribly sorry we gave you a fright.”

“Sit down. Have some tea. It’s relaxing, you’ll see.
My friends and I’ve come a long way to help Thee.”
She thought she was dreaming, our dear Quilter did,
In fact she quite feared that she near flipped her lid!

But the flash of the needles and twist of the thread
soon gave her to know she had nothing to dread.
They spoke no more words, but went straight to their sewing.
How the work went so quickly she had no way way of knowing.

The stitches, how fine! The corners, how straight!
This Claus-woman’s talent was awfully great.
They finished the pillows, then started to quilt.
Before they all knew it, the whole thing was built!

Now old Mrs. Claus, she knew quilters real well,
and she knew they’d need help on this night most of all
So she said to our quilter, “Just move over dear,
I’ve brought my own needle. We’ll get done, never fear.

I told dear old Santa about what quilters do.
How they plan all these projects but have other work too.
So he taught me his magic for doing things fast.
There, that pillows done. Now this is the last.

They tidied their thread snips, and picked up the scraps
and chased our dear quilter’s six cats from their laps.
As they scurried away with their thimbles still gleaming
dear Mrs. Claus paused, her cap ribbons streaming.
“Merry Christmas, my dear, now just have a ball!”

Boy?? Girl??

Long story short, Lacy’s dr thinks the tech made a mistake about the sex of the baby. The dr can’t see the parts that make the baby a boy. Lacy has cried non-stop ever since she was told they don’t know the sex of her baby. They will repeat the sonogram on the 30th. Lacy doesn’t care if the baby is a boy or girl, she just has nothing for a girl. I told her when she was born they didn’t do sonograms to determine sex, you were just pleasantly surprised on the day of delivery. I think she cried harder when I told her that.

So will these quilts work for either sex?

Did I mention that they changed her due date to 1/26 and that Nikolas’s birthday is 1/23 and Lacy’s is 1/20?

Google Reader

Toni made a post about Google Reader several months ago. I was really glad she did because the way I was reading my friend’s blog was let’s just say not easy. However with Google Reader all the blogs are organized and I am suppose to get their blogs automatically.  I have learned when certain friends blog. So when I go to GoogleReader and there isn’t a blog from a certain friend, I can’t help but wonder is my friend alright. Then hours later when I know my friend is at work the blog shows up I’m just a little suspicious. Then I have another friend that I didn’t see blog for two days this week. Now this friend blogs faithly Mon-Fri and I needed to know what she was working on. So I did what any friend would do I contacted her to see if she was alright. Yes, she was fine and she mentioned that she had blogged. So I go directly to her blog and sure enough there are both of her entries and I did need to know what she was blogging. Then I get up this morning and there are both of her entries on GoogleReader. By now I guess you are wondering where I am headed with all the rambling, well it is just to say this. If you made an entry and you felt sure I would reply but didn’t, I’m sorry it is GoogleReader‘s fault and GoogleReader stop withholding important blogs from me. 😛

Special delivery

Today Santa showed up at my door only he was wearing a postal carrier uniform. Silly Santa! 😉 I was really excited to see what was in the packages but I had to take pictures.

The little package was opened first which brought on squeals of delight. CraftyGryphon sent me one of her 30 bunnies in 30 days and a little package.  Look at that baby bunny showing off what was in the little package.  If you crochet or knit, you belong to Ravalry. Baby bunny has her place of honor between DH and my computers where I can enjoy her daily. Thank you so much, CJ!

Now the other box was very heavy and I could hardly wait to get inside of it. Betsy sent this package to me and I can’t wait to get started looking at all the magazines.  As you can see Betsy filled the box with ribbons, a pattern, lipstick in a color that I love, magazines (Down Under Quilts, Quilt Sampler, Quilt Mania, New Zealand Quilter, Fabrications Quilting For You), 2 books ( Heartfelt Holidays and Angels Gather Here) and she sent fabric.  By the time I finished pulling the goodies out of the box from Betsy, I was in tears. I am truely blessed with wonderful friends.

Thanks again, Betsy and CJ!
